WU17 and WU19 round two qualifying draws
Draws for round two of qualification for UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship and UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship were made today
England women’s under-17s and under-19s teams have found out who they will need to overcome if they are to qualify for their respective European Championships next summer.
Places at the two tournaments are secured via a Nations League-style format, where teams can be relegated or promoted in each round of qualification.
Both England WU17s and WU19s finished in the top three of their groups in round one of qualification earlier this year, meaning they retain a chance of securing a spot at next summer’s finals.
The draw for round two of qualification for both competitions took place this afternoon, with seven League A groups for each tournament and only the winner of each mini tournament progressing to next summer’s eight-team finals alongside the hosts.
For England WU17s, they will need to finish top of Group A6 which includes Croatia, France and Poland if they are to join hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina in the UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship finals, which is due to take place between 3 May and 15 May.

As for the WU19s, the UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship will be held in the Czech Republic from 27 June to 9 July 2022 and England have been joined in Group A3 by Belgium, Iceland and Wales.
Should either England team finish bottom of their round two qualification group then they would be relegated to League B for the start of the 2022/23 qualification campaign.
The hosts and the dates for each group’s mini tournament has yet to be decided.
