England's summer squad announcement dates set

With a number of our England teams in competitive action between May and August, find out when each of the squads will be announced

It’s a busy summer for our England Football teams in 2023, with several of our squads in competitive action over the next few months.

It all starts with England women’s under-17s, who head to Estonia for the UEFA Women’s U17 EURO Finals, before the senior women’s side will be our final team in action in July and August at the FIFA Women’s World Cup and then three of our blind teams will face a World Championship on home soil in Birmingham.

Inbetween all of that, we also have five of our men’s teams in action across the world and you can find out all of the key dates for each squad below.

England MU20s

Competition: FIFA U20 World Cup, Argentina 2023
Dates: 20 May-11 June 2023
Squad announced:  Thursday 11 May

Ian Foster’s Young Lions head to South America for the World Cup in May, where they will face group stage opposition from Tunisia, Uruguay and Iraq in their initial group stage on the following dates:-

England WU17s

Competition: UEFA Women’s U17 EURO Estonia 2023
Dates: 14-26 May 2023
Squad announced: 11am BST, Thursday 11 May

Natalie Henderson and her squad have reached the last eight of this year’s EURO after coming through two qualifying groups this season. They will play three group games, with the top two teams in their group progressing to the semi-final.

Competition: UEFA U17 EURO Hungary 2023
Dates: 17 May – 2 June
Squad announced on Wednesday 17 May

Ryan Garry’s Young Lions are one of 16 nations involved in the U17 EURO Finals this season, after successfully coming through two qualifying rounds this season. They will play three group games, with the top two teams from the four groups heading into the knockout stage. The four teams who reach the semi-finals of this competition will also qualify for the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup.

The Three Lions continue their qualification campaign for next summer’s EURO 2024 Finals in Germany with two games in June as follows.

England MU21s

Competition: UEFA U21 EURO Finals Georgia and Romania 2023
Dates: 21 June – 8 July
Provisional squad announced: Wednesday 24 May (time TBC)

Lee Carsley and his team head to Georgia for their EURO in late June, but the head coach will select a provisional squad for a preparation camp at St.George’s Park. At the EURO, the Young Lions will play three group stage games, with the top two from the group heading into the semi-final.

Sarina Wiegman and her Lionesses will head down under for this summer’s final international tournament. While the date for the squad announcement is still to be finalised, we do know who England will face in their group games at the World Cup.
