UEFA EURO 2024 registration, ballot and sale update

Written by:

Richard Weekes

New information on registering for tickets, our allocations, the ballot process and how tickets will be sold

We are pleased to announce that we have received our initial ‘overall’ allocations for each match England will play in, and could progress to, at UEFA Euro 2024 Germany.

Please be aware that all allocation totals are subject to change by a small number of tickets depending on the venue, and subsequent stands, where England supporters will be located.

We will be able to confirm category splits for each match once the draw has taken place.

At this stage, we expect the official registration window to open early next week.  As soon as we have the venues and category splits confirmed, we will open registration for all matches up to the final and inform all members.

Please note: Emails and updates will be sent from ESTC over the coming weeks.  It is the responsibility of the member to ensure their email address is up to date or inform us if they are not receiving emails.

Official Registration

In October, we opened a ‘pre-registration’ phase.  The purpose of this was to understand the demand for each game/category.

As expected, there was extremely high demand for each fixture, and every match was heavily over-subscribed.

When the Official Registration window opens next week, you will be able to register your interest for yourself, and up to three other members, for all group stage and knock-out stage matches.  The only details you will need to do this will be your guest's FAN number and Date of Birth.

Please note: you will only be registering your interest in a match and not for a specific category (explained below).

The closing date of this registration window is still TBC, but it will be open for a minimum of 4 days.

Once the registration window closes, we will begin to conduct the ballot for each fixture.

Wheelchair and Easy Access Registrations

We can confirm that, for all matches, we will have a minimum of 20 Wheelchair and 20 Easy Access seats.  Each seat in this category will come with a free companion ticket.

Members who require this seating type will be able to register for Wheelchair or Easy Access tickets during the Official Registration process.  All members who register for this category of seat will only be able to register for themselves.  If they are successful in the ballot, they will be contacted directly to confirm companion details.

Under 18s

Under 18s will be unable to register an account with UEFA and therefore will be unable to access the sale[ti1] .  Anyone under the age of 18 must therefore apply with a member who is 19 or older.

Please also note that anyone under the age of 16 will be required to attend the match with an adult over the age of 18.

How the ballot and sale will work

In a nutshell:

Each match will be balloted via a 70%/20%/10% split as per the membership rules.  Ballot results will be emailed to each individual who registered. (If a junior member does not have an email address associated with their account, they will have their ballot results sent to the member who registered them).

Members who are successful in the ballot will be granted access to the sale in stages.

Each stage will be open for at least 24 hours.  Members who are in the top 70%, or who are successful in the 20%/10% ballots for each game, will be guaranteed a ticket within their designated sale window.

The Top 70%:

The top 70% will get first access. The more caps you have, the earlier you can access the sale, giving you a better chance of obtaining the cheapest tickets.

For example, If we receive 2,000 Fans First tickets, the first members given access to the sale will be the 2,000 highest-capped members based on those who registered for that match. This will continue in stages until the top 70% have all had an opportunity to buy.

Successful in 20% or 10% ballot:

Next, those successful in the 20% ballot will be allowed access to the sale, followed by those who were successful in the 10% ballot.

If you wish to attend with a member who has access to the sale at a later stage than you, you can still buy together.  However, you will be required to wait until both of you have access to the sale to purchase your tickets.  This means that the member on higher caps may end up sacrificing their ticket in a cheaper category.

The alternative option is for the higher capper to purchase their ticket in the first instance.  If the person you wish to attend with manages to purchase a ticket in your category, you will be able to link your application after the sale via UEFA’s website.

Any unsold tickets will then be opened up to all remaining unsuccessful members on a first-come-first-served basis.  Members who were successful in the initial ballot can still buy a ticket in this sale if they have not already done so, however, the ticket will no longer be guaranteed.

Only Group Stage matches will be available to purchase via UEFA’s website during the sale process.

Knock-out stage matches will be sold on a game-by-game basis should England progress.  However, ballots will be conducted, and the results communicated to members for the Knock Stage matches, at the same time so that supporters can plan their trips.

At present, we expect the sale to take place via UEFA’s website between the 12 and 20 of December 2023.

Each sale window will be open for at least 24 hours.  Members who are in the top 70%, or who are successful in the 20%/10% ballots, will be guaranteed a ticket within their designated sale window.

Explained in detail:

For each match:

- 70% of the ticket allocation will be guaranteed to the Members with the highest number of caps who registered their interest.

- 20% will be balloted to Members who have missed out on the 70% allocation. However, the Members eligible for this ballot will be limited to those who have attended at least two away games and four home games between the 2020-2022 and 2022-2024 membership period.  If the number of tickets available exceeds the total number of members in this group who have been to at least two away and four home matches, then the 20% include each of those members (i.e. all those who meet the two away, four home criteria are guaranteed a ticket).  If the number of members who meet this criteria exceed the number of tickets available then they will be entered into a ballot.  If they are unsuccessful, they will then be entered into the 10% ballot

- 10% will be balloted to all Members who missed out in the 70% allocation and the 20% ballot

- In the event of the Member’s ticket allocation being oversubscribed, no tickets will be allocated to Members who have not attended a single match (home or away) in the 2022-2024 membership period

- Ballot results will be sent to all members individually.  This email will be sent to the email address associated with their account

- Tickets will be sold in stages depending on how many caps you have and/or which ballot you were successful in

- Members in the top 70%, based on those who applied, will be granted access to the sale in stages to allow those with more caps a better chance of securing cheaper tickets

- The time at which you are entered into the sale will be based on the number of tickets in the cheapest category for that game. For example, if we receive 2,000 Fans First tickets and 2,500 Category 3 tickets for Group Stage Match 1, the first 2,000 members with the highest number of caps, based on those who applied, will given access to the sale first.  This means they are guaranteed a Fans First ticket

- Then, the next 2,500 members, based on caps, will be given access to the sale.  This means they are guaranteed a Category 3 ticket, and may have the opportunity to purchase a Fans First ticket if there are any leftover

- This will repeat until the top 70% of members have all had an opportunity to buy a ticket

- The next sale window will be for those who were successful in the 20% ballot.  Members who were successful in this ballot are guaranteed tickets but will have a lower chance of securing Category 3 or Fans First

- The next sale window will be for those who were successful in the 10% ballot. Members who were successful in this ballot are guaranteed tickets but will again have a lower chance of securing the cheaper tickets

- After this, if there are any remaining tickets, all unsuccessful members will be granted access to the sale/s.  Tickets at this stage are not guaranteed and will be first-come-first-served

- All members granted access to the sale will be able to select any available category

- The window you are allocated to purchase your ticket will be outlined to you once the ballot has been conducted

- All three group stage matches will be sold at the same time

- Only Group Stage matches will be available to purchase via UEFA’s website.  Knock-out stage matches will be sold on a game-by-game basis should England progress.  However, ballots will be conducted and the results communicated to members for the Knock Stage matches so that supporters can plan their trip.

- At present, we expect the sale to take place, via UEFA’s website, during the week commencing 11 December 2023.  A full guide on this will be sent to all successful members before the sale opens

Group Application and Cap Cut-off per game

The information below is only for guidance only.  It is based on the data we received from the pre-registration step and assumes the same, or a similar number of people apply, and so is not a guarantee of tickets in any circumstances.

Unfortunately, as we will not receive the category splits until after the draw, we are unable to outline the cap cut-off for each category at this stage.  We will update the below tables once we receive this information.

As stated above, members will not be registering for a specific category, instead, they will be given access to the sale in stages, based on their caps or which ballot they fall into.  The earlier you get access, the higher chance you get of obtaining the cheapest tickets.

Applying in a group with people on different caps totals will not affect your chances of securing a ticket.

Everyone in a group who qualifies for the top 70% will be guaranteed a ticket regardless.

For this tournament, all registrations will be treated as individual entries.

If you have a group with a member who falls into the 20% ballot and another member who falls into the 10% ballot, both members will be entered into their respective ballots and their results will be treated separately.

Current expected Cap cut-off for General Access tickets:
