Leah Williamson and Jill Scott combine to deliver a stirring message for the country

Leah Williamson and Jill Scott have joined forces to issue a rallying cry to the nation to get behind the Lionesses ahead of the opening game of their 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign in Australia.

In a new 90-second video released today, Williamson and Scott combine to deliver a stirring message as they encourage the country to once again get behind the England team.

Surrounded by a backdrop of flags, shirts and memorabilia, Williamson references the team’s early group stage kick-off times, asserting that 'there’s no better way to start the day’ than with ‘football for breakfast’, before urging fans to 'wave those flags like never before, wear the Three Lions with pride, and support England every step of the way’.

“Having the fans behind us every time we play is important and we never take it for granted. In return, I can promise we will do everything to make you proud on and off the pitch.”
