If I Could... with Jude Bellingham

1) If I could…play alongside one player from the history of world football, it would be…

…Zinedine Zidane. I would just give him the ball all the time and let him do what he wants. He was a little bit before my time but playing midfield growing up, that's all anyone talked about. People would say ‘you have to watch Zidane, you have to watch Zidane…’ and since then I have watched loads of footage of him and every time I am blown away.

2) If I could…improve one part of my game today, it would be…

…that I would love to be naturally both-footed. I really like seeing players like Ousmane Dembele and other players who can take corners from both sides and things like that.

3) If I could…take one part of an England team-mate’s game, it would be…

… Kyle Walker’s speed. I think the game would be a lot easier and a lot more fun if you were that quick, being able to drive past people like that.

4) If I could…go back to one event in history, it would be…

… a big sporting event like when England won the World Cup. If I could live one day again when I was alive, I would say the League Cup final with Birmingham versus Arsenal. I was so young, but I still remember that being a great day. I just think I'd appreciate it more now. I went to Wembley to watch it but I was so young that now I can't really tell you stuff that happened in the game. When I watch it, I remember little snippets but I would love to live through that again.

5) If I could…change one thing about the world, it would be…

…for everyone to be more peaceful and nicer to each other. 

6) If I could…give my eight-year-old self one bit of advice, it would be…

…to just keep being yourself. Not just football-wise but in everything you do. Just be yourself.

7) If I could…speak to that child who is considering joining their local team but isn’t sure, I would tell them…

…to do whatever makes them happy. Play in the positions that make you happy, play in the teams that make you happy and if you don't find happiness, then don’t force yourself. In life, just do what makes you happy.

8) If I could…only eat one item of food for the rest of my life, it would be…

…chicken, because you can do so much with it.

9) If I could…choose who would play me in the film of my life story, it would be…

…Denzel Washington, if he was a bit younger, 100 per cent.

10) If I could…have a second dream job, it would be…

…something to do with football still. I would probably be a sports journalist or something like that.

11) If I could…be one person for a day, it would be…

…someone like LeBron James. Someone who is the absolute best at something.
