With 7 in 10 participants reporting that poor behaviour is a key issue in their football experience, it is the most significant factor negatively impacting participation and involvement in grassroots football today.

Whether it’s one individual, or a specific group of people whose behaviour is having a negative impact, we want to support clubs and teams with managing that behaviour and working towards a more positive and respectful football experience for everyone. We have a whole host of resources available to clubs and teams who are struggling with behaviour, which we have pulled together into one place.

Behaviour Improvement Resources

The Behaviour Improvement Resources provide a helping ‘hand’ to managing and improving behaviour, offering behaviour specific resources, training, and learning aligned to the Standards of Behaviour.

Access the resources we have available below. We’ll continue to add content to this page over time, so do come back in the future to see new content which can support the improvement of behaviour. If you have any ideas for content you’d like to see added, please let us know here.

Become a Respect Marshall

Respect Marshalls support their team in following The Grassroots Code. Ultimately, they help everyone to understand and respect the Standards of Behaviour we’d all like to see on match days.

We have also heard that you want to see us take tougher action where there is poor behaviour, and in particular to come down harder on repeat offenders who can spoil the experience for others. We’re doing that in a variety of ways, and you can read more about that here.
