Debra Nelson on what it was like to be a fan inside Stadium Australia as England booked their place in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Final!

I still can’t really believe it. It feels like I’m living a dream! I have just witnessed an astonishing victory by our Lionesses against Australia in the semi-finals of the World Cup!

The atmosphere was extraordinary, a sea of Australian fans in the stadium, their cheers and chants almost drowning out every other sound. But our Lionesses didn’t crumble, they faced the challenge and embraced it with unwavering resilience and strength.

As I entered the stadium, surrounded by green and gold, I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness.

The energy was tense and I knew that our Lionesses were up against not only a determined, passionate Australian team but also a roaring home crowd.

Carter & Toone on reaching the World Cup final!

Jill Scott & Kyle Walker are joined by the England duo on the latest episode of Lionesses: Down Under connected by EE

The match was intense and from the first whistle, you could tell how much this competition meant to both teams.

As time went on our Lionesses found their rhythm, their teamwork shining through. It was only a matter of time until we opened the scoring.

Toone takes a shot. Top bins. The stadium fell momentarily silent as Lionesses fans erupted in joy.

The sense of unity amongst us was breath-taking. The atmosphere was electric, and the excitement was almost too much to contain.

But the match was far from over. Australia weren’t giving up, they were fighting for more than just the win but to change the face of women’s football in Australia.

This is a moment I will never forget!
This is a moment I will never forget!

As they continued fighting the crowd's cheers only grew louder, the pressure continued building but the final whistle blew. The Lionesses had done it 3-1.

The cheers, the roars, the tears of joy – it was a moment I’ll never forget.

History-makers. The first England team to make it to a World Cup final since 1966. They conquered the home nation and earned their place in the final.

And now, we look ahead to the grand finale. Our Lionesses are set to face Spain, a formidable opponent in their own right.

The journey has been long, filled with challenges, triumphs, and moments of pure magic. Our team has shown us the strength of unity, the power of resilience, and the beauty of football.

As I sit here, replaying the moments of the match in my mind, I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride.
