James keen to keep pushing after brilliant Netherlands brace
The impressive forward was in high spirits after the Lionesses secured their first win of EURO 2025.
MATCH REPORT: England 4-0 Netherlands
Lauren James declared “the goals say it all” as her brilliant brace inspired England to a massive 4-0 victory over the Netherlands at EURO 2025.
James unleashed a rocket into the top corner to put the Lionesses in front in the first half, before rolling home the third goal of the game to seal a big three points in the second.
Georgia Stanway and Ella Toone were also on target as Sarina Wiegman’s side got their campaign moving, and James was thrilled to play her part.
She said: “I enjoyed it a lot, I think the goals say it all.

“We bounced back from our previous game and today we showed that we are more than capable of showing the world what we can do.”
James copped a blow to her right eye and was substituted with 20 minutes to play, but is not going to let a bruise spoil her celebrations.
She added: “That’s why I don’t go up for headers! It’s a nasty one.
“The win is massive. As long as I am helping the team in every way I can, whether that is providing or scoring, I just try and do my best each game.
“Hopefully as the games keep going on, I keep getting more involved.”
