England will face Spain, Iceland and Ukraine in the European Qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, following the draw on Tuesday 4 November 2025

Sarina Wiegman’s team were placed in League A, Group 3 and will play each of the teams home and away between March and June 2026, with another clash against current world champions Spain to look forward to, as well as renewing acquaintances with both Iceland and Ukraine. England last faced Ukraine in a World Cup Qualifier in 2014, while the last meeting with Iceland was a friendly fixture in 2009.

The Lionesses know that if they finish top of their group, then they will automatically secure their spot at the World Cup Finals in Brazil.

A total of eleven nations from Europe will head to South America, with the four League A group winners qualifying automatically, while the remaining seven direct spots, and a further berth in the inter-confederation play-offs, will be decided by two rounds of play-offs in October and November 2026.

A total of 32 nations will play at the 2027 edition in South America, with the tournament set to expand to 48 teams for the 2031 World Cup and qualification for Brazil is already underway in Asia and Africa.
