What’s coming up for our England teams?

England arrived home from North America on Sunday morning after securing their best-ever FIFA World Cup finish since 1966 following a thrilling 6-4 victory over France in the bronze medal match in Miami.

It brings to an end the Three Lions’ 2025-26 campaign, but what’s next for the England teams in the coming weeks?

Well, there’s two more tournaments to look forward to across August and September as we move into the 2026-27 campaign.

First up, the Para Lions are in action next month when the men’s blind team travel to Strasbourg in France for the IBSA European Blind Football Championship between 17-23 August.

England will play France, Germany and Greece in their group stage before the tournament heads into the knockout and final placing games.

Into September and we have another World Cup to look forward to, as our England women’s under-20s head to Poland for the FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup which runs between 5-27 September.

Lydia Bedford’s team, who will play Canada, Tanzania and Brazil in their group stage games, qualified for this tournament following their campaign in the UEFA Women’s U19 EURO 2025 last term.

Thomas Tuchel and his squad will also be back in action in September following their own World Cup exploits, when the new UEFA Nations League campaign for 2026-27 commences with a new-look four-game international window,

And they will play the new World Cup holders Spain in their opening game, with Luis de la Fuente’s team heading to Wembley on Saturday 26 September (7.45pm BST) before they head to Prague for a game against Czechia on Tuesday 29 September (7.45pm BST).

The squad then hop to Rijeka where they will renew familiarity with another World Cup opponent in Croatia on Saturday 3 October (5pm BST) before the window is wrapped up back at Wembley when Czechia are the visitors for their return fixture on Tuesday 6 October (7.45pm BST).

Also in action during September are the men’s under-21s, who will continue their UEFA U21 EURO qualifying campaign with a home game against Kazkahstan on Friday 25 September, with the venue and kick-off time for that match to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

For the Lionesses, they will be back in action in October when they meet Greece over two legs in round one of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 play-offs.

Sarina Wiegman’s squad will be away for the first game on Friday 9 October, before hosting Greece four days later on Tuesday 13 October.

Our other men’s and women’s development teams will be kicking-off their new season in the September international window, with fixtures and dates to be confirmed in August.
