Children at summer football camp treated to England gift bags in Kansas City

While the England men’s senior team were in New Jersey for their final FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage game with Panama, they were also inspiring the next generation of young players back at their base camp in Kansas City.

Thomas Tuchel and his squad secured a 2-0 victory on Saturday to secure their spot in the knockout stages, where they will face DR Congo in Atlanta on Wednesday 1 July.

And they had plenty of support in Kansas City too, with youngsters in attendance at the Mayor’s Nights Night Kicks football camp receiving England gift bags earlier in the day after their first session of the summer.

Situated close to their training base at Swope Park in Missouri, the Mayor’s Nights community programmes are free for local children at community centres across the city.

The Three Lions squad returned to their base in Kansas City after the game with Panama on Saturday evening, with focus in camp now shifted to what will be a first-ever senior meeting with DR Congo in the Round of 32.

After a day of recovery on Sunday, they will be back in training at their base at the Swope Soccer Village on Monday.
