Young Lions kick-off their new season with a victory over the Azzurri at St. George's Park

England men's under-19s kicked-off the season with a 2-0 victory over Italy at St. George's Park on Thursday afternoon.

Ian Foster's team played the first of two games this month as they begin their preparations for November's U19 EURO qualifying round.

And it was a good start for the Young Lions too, as they went ahead through Dane Scarlett's first-half penalty before a second goal followed from Jude Soonsup-Bell to complete the win.

The MU19s will now head to Germany, where they will take on their hosts in Bad Durrheim on Monday afternoon.
