Chesterfield will welcome England men’s under-20s next month.
The Young Lions will take on Italy at the Spireites’ Technique Stadium on Thursday 7 October (7pm kick-off).
England's development teams are no strangers to Chesterfield either. The national team’s last visit came in October 2018 when the MU21s sealed qualification for the 2019 U21 EURO with a 7-0 victory over Andorra.
Going further back, it'll be almost ten years since the venue hosted its first international game when our MU19s took on Germany there in October 2011. A team containing the likes of Conor Coady and Wilf Zaha lost that game 1-0.
Since then, the MU21s faced Norway when a Connor Wickham goal sealed a 1-0 win in 2012, while the stadium has also hosted a MU17s' Euro Qualifier with Turkey and was a venue when England hosted the UEFA U17 EURO Finals in 2018.
Steve Cooper's Young Lions kicked-off their campaign with a 2-1 win over Israel but saw their EURO hopes ended in the semi-final when they lost to the Netherlands after a shootout.
Tickets are on sale from Friday 10 September 2021 and available via Chesterfield FC.
