Two second-half goals from the hosts saw the Young Lions succumb to defeat in Bielsko-Biala on Friday evening
England men's under-20s slipped to a 2-0 defeat against Poland in Bielsko-Biala, following two second-half goals from the host nation.

Andy Edwards' Young Lions, who return home to face Germany in Colchester next week, shaded a quiet first half.

It was James McAtee (pictured) who came closest to opening the scoring, skipping past two men en-route to the area only to see his eventual shot blocked at the expense of a corner.

But it was two quickfire goals in the early stages of the second half which cost England, with substitute Radoslaw Golebiowski scoring a near-post header to put Poland in front after 55 minutes.

And, backed by a 6000+ strong crowd, they doubled their advantage five minutes later when another sub in Patryk Szwedzik struck past Harvey Cartwright from inside the box.

England responded and Sam Greenwood whistled a shot inches wide of the post in the 65th minute before McAtee saw another effort go narrowly wide after a neat set-up by Daniel Neil in the later stages of the game.

It wasn't to be though, and the squad will now head back to home soil for their second match of the week on Tuesday evening.
