England women's under-19s will play Germany, Norway and Sweden at this summer's 2022 UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship Finals in Czech Republic

England WU19s have found out who they will face in the 2022 UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship Finals.

Gemma Davies’s side will be one of eight teams going for glory in Czech Republic between 27 June to 9 July, with games taking place in Opava, Ostrava, Frýdek-Místek, and Karvina, and the match schedule set to be confirmed shortly.

The draw was made on Wednesday morning at Clarion Congress Hotel in Ostrava, with the Young Lionesses placed in Group B alongside Germany, Norway and Sweden.

Group A includes hosts Czech Republic, France, Italy and Spain, and the top two from each group will advance to the semi-finals on 6 July, before the Final three days later.

The four teams in Group B have reached 22 Finals between them and won the tournament ten times.

Germany have the most victories, with six between 2000 and 2011, and Sweden also enjoy a proud history, claiming the title in 1999, 2012 and 2015.

Norway have yet to lift the trophy but have reached four finals and for England, they won the trophy back in 2009, when the team included the likes of Lucy Bronze, Jordan Nobbs and Toni Duggan.

Speaking after qualification to the Finals was secured in April, Davies said: “Of course, we are there to try to win the tournament, that is what we want to do, and our eyes are very much on competing with the best and going as far as we can.

“For a lot of us, it will be our first experience of a major tournament but initially our focus will be on concentrating on those first group games once we know what the draw is and then taking it from there.”
