Three Lions to sport new-look Nike kits as they prepare for 2022 World Cup and beyond...

We’re excited to launch the new Nike England men’s kit for the 2022-23 season, as the Three Lions prepare for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The new shirts will be worn for the first time during September’s internationals against Italy and Germany, before the Three Lions head to Qatar in November.

And our Young Lions will also sport the new look when they compete in the 2023 UEFA U21 EURO and FIFA U20 World Cup next summer.

Supporters can now order the new home and away shirts but if you’re eager to find out more, read on below or see the kits a little closer in our image gallery.

The Inspiration

The England’s men’s national team – and their commitment to stand for causes greater than themselves – has shown the power to unite a nation.

No matter what is happening around them, the Three Lions’ young, diverse team represent Nike’s commitment to move people into action and create a better world.

Nike’s design team took inspiration from the bold, energetic spirit of the young group of England players who are not afraid to express themselves both on and off the pitch. They were also inspired by their cohesive teamwork, togetherness, and movement.

This identity inspired Nike’s design team to bring a new attitude and aesthetic to the England National Team collection that speaks to the stalwart spirit and collective energy of the young Lions.

ORDER THE NEW HOME KIT

The home kit

England’s home kit boasts an all-new dynamic style by combining iconic colours with youthful patterns. The kit incorporates a distorted Three Lions graphic on the shoulders, layered with aggressive angles and lines to replicate claw marks.

Taking inspiration from the youthful energy of the 1992 and 1996 kits, the 2022 kit brings back an infusion of vibrant colour, with subtle hits of lighter Blue Fury accenting the darker Blue Void throughout the kit.

The angular typeface applied to the name and number – and the Three Lions graphic on the inside back of the shirt – is inspired by industrial fonts used by heavy metal rock bands throughout England.

ORDER THE NEW AWAY KIT

The away kit

England’s latest away kit reimagines an icon both in colour and construction. Highlighting the all-new kit is the return of the iconic red colour scheme. This fresh take applies a modern twist to a classic colour that is brought to life through premium design and detail.

The all-over Challenge Red is complemented by subtle accents of Blue Void and Blue Fury throughout the kit, simultaneously honouring England’s storied past while nodding to the future through youthful, vibrant swaths of colour.

England carries a long tradition of playing in a collared shirt, which pays homage to the classical elegance of English fashion. The 2022 away kit brings back a reimagined collar with crisp Blue Fury tipping. Hidden on the underside of the back collar lies a knitted Three Lions graphic, which is showcased when the collar is popped.

Just like the home kit, the typeface used on the name and number takes inspiration from angular, industrial fonts used by English heavy metal rock bands. Lion claw mark graphics are also added into the sock.
