Late goal sees Jay Robinson and Mikey Moore's strikes cancelled out at St. George's Park

England men’s under-17s stepped up their preparations for next month’s EURO qualifiers with a 2-2 draw against Norway on Friday afternoon.

MU17s boss Greg Lincoln made wholesale changes to the starting XI who began Wednesday’s 3-0 victory over the same opposition.

The games were part of the countries’ preparations for the UEFA Under-17 Championship first qualifying round in November, when England MU17s will play Faroe Islands, Kosovo and hosts Croatia.

England took the lead in the 19th minute when a good interchange on the right-hand side between Trevan Sanusi and Trey Nyoni saw the latter dribble past several players before laying the ball off to Southampton’s Jay Robinson to thump home.

Norway pulled a goal back six minutes into the second half through an impressive long-range strike by Daniel Skaarud.

But the Young Lions went back in front with an effort of their own from distance with 20 minutes remaining, as Mikey Moore lobbed the goalkeeper expertly.

It looked as though England were on course for their second victory over Norway in the space of a week but then Felix Taraldset equalised deep into injury-time.

Focus for the Young Lions and their staff will now turn to the UEFA Under-17 Championship first qualifying round, which begins with their match against Faroe Islands on Friday 3 November.
