England women’s under-19s enjoyed an impressive 5-0 victory over visitors Denmark at St. George’s Park.

Amy Merrick’s side were facing the Danes in the first of two matches over the next week as her side prepare for October's UEFA Women's Under-19 EURO qualifiers, when they will face group hosts Wales, Czechia and Greece.

Durham striker Poppy Pritchard was making her England WU19s debut on Wednesday afternoon and it didn’t take her long to open her account after being set up by Leicester City’s Ava Baker on the quarter-hour mark.

Araya Dennis, who is dual registered with Arsenal and Crystal Palace, then made it 2-0 five minutes later before grabbing her second half an hour in with a powerful strike which went in via a deflection.

The Young Lionesses then had to wait until the final 12 minutes to score again when substitute Georgia Mullett made it 4-0 before Freya Godfrey rounded off the win in injury-time when the Arsenal forward dribbled around the Denmark defenders to score.

Next up for England WU19s is another game at St. George’s Park on Tuesday morning, this time against Germany, with kick-off at 11am BST.
