England women's Under-19s equalised late to draw 1-1 with Serbia at the European Championship.

Mia Enderby scored a penalty to salvage a point for the Young Lionesses, who had gone behind earlier in the second half.

It leaves John Griffiths' side on four points from two matches, with the final group game against France to come on Saturday.

The first half was marred by a serious injury to Evie Rabjohn, the Manchester United defender being stretchered off after half an hour to be replaced by Cerys Brown.

It was otherwise a relatively quiet opening period, with Vivienne Lia coming closest to goal. The Arsenal winger was twice denied by the Serbia goalkeeper and was a constant threat.

Katie Cox was forced into one smart save of her own at the other end, while Brooke Aspin had a header cleared off the line from a Lia corner.

Cox was called back into action early in the second period, pushing a long-range effort behind for a Serbia corner that came to nothing.

But midway through the half, Serbia did find the opener.

Nina Matejić produced a fine piece of skill to turn away from the England defence and slotted past Cox to give her side the lead.

Poppy Pritchard had earlier been introduced by head coach Griffiths and she soon went close to equalising with a lofted effort.

Lia soon had another go herself, shooting high and wide after a dangerous ball from the right-hand side.

And just as time seemed to be running out, the Young Lionesses did find an equaliser. The referee awarded a penalty after a handball in the box and Enderby converted to draw the scores level.

Saturday's clash with France will be live on BBC iPlayer at 4pm BST.
