Kane keen to kick on after England win Group C
MATCH REPORT: ENGLAND 0-0 SLOVENIA
Harry Kane stressed that winning Group C means England have achieved their first objective at EURO 2024.
The Three Lions were held to a 0-0 draw with Slovenia on Tuesday evening, with the skipper accepting they are looking for more in the final third.
But he is sure that the side will continue to improve as the tournament progresses ahead of Sunday's last-16 match in Gelsenkirchen.
Kane said: "The aim before the start of the tournament was to come top of the group and control our own destiny. That is what we’ve done.

"I thought we played a lot better than the other two games, a lot more energy, better on the ball, we just couldn’t find that final pass, that final finish. All the games are going to be difficult now. That final bit of quality was missing, that final finish, we didn’t quite have it today. We created some half-chances and had one towards the end where we maybe could have done better. But they defended well and made it hard for us.
"We’ll recover well, we’ll enjoy that we are top of the group and then we’ll look forward to the next one."
Kane believes England improved in attack with the introduction of substitutes Kobbie Mainoo, Cole Palmer, Anthony Gordon and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
He said: "The boys who came on did really well, they kept the energy high, brought a different type of dimension to the game. That is what we need, all the players chipping in when they get minutes.
"These games are tough, they are really tough. We’ve been here before, we’ve been into the knockouts and stepped it up when we’ve got there in past tournaments. Hopefully we can do the same but whoever we get in the next round, it’s going to be another difficult game. It might take extra-time, it might take penalties, that is the reality of this tournament.
"It’s going to be a difficult challenge ahead but we have more than enough ability to keep pushing and we look forward to the next round."
