England women’s senior team assistant coach Arjan Veurink has been awarded an honorary MBE for his services to association football.

The Dutchman was named among the list of foreign nationals to receive honorary awards in 2024, following on from head coach Sarina Wiegman who received an honorary CBE in the New Year Honours list for 2023.

"I am very proud to receive this honour, for me a recognition of the amazing work on and off the pitch by the Lionesses,” said Arjan.

“I can't thank enough those people who support me both personally and professionally on a day-to-day basis. Also, a special word of thanks to the FA for their continuous belief in us as staff and players on this incredible journey."

Three of the current Lionesses squad were named on the King’s New Year Honours list for 2024 in December, with Millie Bright getting an OBE while Lauren Hemp and Mary Earps received MBEs. They followed England team-mates Leah Williamson (OBE), Lucy Bronze (MBE), Beth Mead (MBE) and England Women’s all-time leading goalscorer Ellen White (MBE) who were honoured in 2023.
