Matthew Cox (Brentford), Tom Fellows (West Bromwich Albion) and Jonathan Rowe (Olympique de Marseille) have joined England MU21s ahead of their upcoming fixtures against Northern Ireland and Austria.

It’s a first MU21s call-up for Fellows, who previously played a part in both of the England men’s Elite League Squad victories over Poland and Czechia in March.

Harvey Elliott (Liverpool), Omari Hutchinson (Ipswich Town), Jaden Philogene (Aston Villa) and Sam Tickle (Wigan Athletic) initially reported to St. George’s Park earlier this week but have now returned to their clubs for further medical assessment. Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace) will also play no part in the upcoming fixtures, with the midfielder remaining with his club on medical advice.

Interim head coach Ben Futcher will take charge of England MU21s for the first time on Friday 6 September as the Young Lions travel to Belfast to take on Northern Ireland in a 2025 U21 EURO qualifier, before his side return to England to take on Austria at Luton Town’s Kenilworth Road on Monday 9 September.

7.30pm, Tuesday 3 September

Cole Palmer, Ollie Watkins and Phil Foden will play no part in England’s forthcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures.

The Three Lions squad reported to St. George’s Park on Tuesday but, following assessment, both Palmer and Watkins returned to their clubs to continue rehabilitation for ongoing issues.

Foden did not report through illness and is ruled out of the matches against Republic of Ireland and Finland.

No further additions are planned at this moment in time.

England travel to Dublin to face Ireland on Saturday (7 September, 5pm kick-off) before hosting Finland at Wembley on Tuesday (10 September, 7.45pm kick-off).

9am, Tuesday 3 September

Kaide Gordon (Norwich City), Calum Scanlon (Millwall, on loan from Liverpool) and Jacob Wright (Manchester City) replace Omari Kellyman (Chelsea), Ben Chrisene (Norwich City) and Oliver Arblaster (Sheffield United) in the men's Elite League squad to play Turkiye and Romania.

Zach Nelson (Luton Town) and Louie Marsh (Sheffield United)  are also called up to replace Alfie Devine (Tottenham Hotspur) and Darko Gyabi (Plymouth Argyle, on loan from Leeds United), who have withdrawn from the squad.

Lewis Orford (West Ham United) has withdrawn from the men's Under-19 squad and is replaced by Michael Golding (Leicester City). Josh Ajala (West Ham United) replaces Kadan Young (Aston Villa).

9am, Monday 2 September

Kellen Fisher (Norwich City) has been added to the England men's Elite League squad as Ryan Andrews (Watford) will stay with his club until Saturday September 7 before joining up for the game with Romania in Stockport.

In the MU19s, Sam Proctor (Aston Villa) replaces Elyh Harrison (Chester FC, on loan from Manchester United), who has withdrawn.

Lucas Rawlings (Wolverhampton Wanderers) is called into the England MU17s squad to replace Bailey Palmer (Middlesbrough), who has withdrawn with injury.
