England women's under-19s head coach Lauren Smith has named a 21-strong squad for the 2025 UEFA Women’s U19 EURO finals.

The Young Lionesses are one of eight nations bidding to win the prestigious age-group competition, which will be played in Poland from Sunday 15 June to Friday 27 June.

Smith's team are in Group B and will first play the Netherlands on the opening day of the tournament (4pm BST, Sunday 15 June), before facing Portugal on Wednesday 18 June (4pm BST) and current holders Spain on Saturday 21 June (6pm BST).

England's first two group games will be played at the Stadium Tarnobrzeg before they tackle Spain at the Stadium Stalowa Wola and every England game in the tournament will be broadcast live by the BBC on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.

Young Lionesses squad announcement

The top two sides from Group A and Group B will progress to the semi-finals and have hopes of lifting the trophy in the final in Rzeszów on Friday 27 June. Qualification for next year’s FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, which will also be played in Poland, is also at stake at the tournament. UEFA has six qualification spots, including Poland as the hosts, meaning a third-place finish in Group B will guarantee England a place at next year’s competition.

“Competing in age-group tournaments is vital for the development of young players, so it’s fantastic to see our Young Lionesses involved in another U19 EURO and with an opportunity to qualify for next year’s U20 World Cup," said Smith.

"Only Europe’s top eight teams make it to the finals, so we know the challenge will be tough – but we’re ready to give it our all. Just as importantly, we want to take as much as we can from the EURO experience, both on and off the pitch.”
