Alongside being the home of England’s teams, St. George’s Park is the home of England Football Learning, which provides coaches of all levels across the country access to courses and training to enhance experience and qualifications.

Over the past month, St. George’s Park has welcomed cohorts across two prestigious qualifications to Staffordshire to celebrate the conclusion of their respective courses and subsequent graduation.

In May, 16 participants across both men’s and women’s football celebrated the end of their 18-month Technical Directors course, which prepares those involved for leadership roles within the elite environment. The cohort, which included Arsenal Academy Director Per Mertesacker, came together 22 times across the 18 months, but also had the opportunity to take part in immersive study including a visit to New York City to explore a world-leading organisation, in addition to one-to-one executive tutoring from an expert business mentor. The course drew from leaders in their field, not only in football, but also in business, military, and education.

Meanwhile, earlier in June, a further 25 learners celebrated the conclusion of their UEFA Pro Diploma course. Consisting of sessions at St. George’s Park and live game analysis from UEFA Euro 2024, the latest 25 coaches join an exclusive alumni group of just 600 people to have graduated with the UEFA Pro Diploma at our site in Staffordshire.

Notable names within this year’s group include England senior women’s assistant manager, Arjan Veurink; former England international striker Darius Vassell; and Charlton Athletic Women’s first team head coach, Melanie Reay.

The UEFA Pro Diploma is the highest professional-game coaching course offered by England Football Learning, and is designed to develop highly-skilled and aspiring leaders, managers, and coaches, with the aim to create sustained success in football.

Congratulations to all of this year’s graduates across the two courses hosted at St. George’s Park.
