England men’s under-21s’ EURO matchwinner Jonathan Rowe was a man full of emotion in Bratislava, after his extra-time header sealed a second successive title for the Young Lions.
The Marseille striker was introduced at the start of extra time by boss Lee Carsley and made an instant impact, scoring with what was his first touch withing two minutes of the restart.
And Rowe was left almost speechless at full time as England retained their title to cap off another strong campaign under Carsley.
“Everyone’s exceptional,” said Rowe.
“From the minute I came into the camp, I could tell everyone had the same mindset - we all wanted to win. We’ve done that now.
“The job’s finally finished. We can all celebrate and go back to our clubs.”

With Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel in attendance at the Final, Rowe said the players knew but no extra incentive was needed for anyone.
“I came into the game with a mindset of doing anything I can do to help the team,” he added.
“I knew I wasn’t starting but I knew at some point one of us on the bench would have to come and make a difference and help the team push over the line.
“I’m so happy we managed to do that in front of some important people tonight. Let’s celebrate!”
