James McAtee has been added to England MU21s’ pre-EURO training squad.
The Manchester City player, with 18 caps and seven goals to his name for the age group, will link up with Lee Carsley’s extended group at St. George’s Park this weekend.
However, Sunderland’s Dennis Cirkin, Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and Tottenham Hotspur’s Dane Scarlett have been forced to withdraw due to medical issues.
Carsley’s final squad for next month’s UEFA U21 EURO in Slovakia is to be announced on Friday 6 June.
Meanwhile, Will Antwi has added Tottenham’s Reiss Russell-Denny and Crystal Palace’s Jesse Derry to his UEFA U19 EURO squad.
This follows the withdrawal of Newcastle United’s Lewis Miley and Southampton’s Tyler Dibling.
Derry was recently a part of the England MU18 squad that contested a double-header away to Morocco; scoring twice in an opening 3-1 win in Salé.
England’s U19 EURO campaign gets underway against Norway on Saturday 14 June with the Young Lions also pitted against Germany and Netherlands in their group for the tournament in Romania.
