MATCH CENTRE: ENGLAND 2-0 SERBIA

England’s goalscorers Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka were pleased to contribute to the Three Lions’ 2-0 win over Serbia this evening.

Thomas Tuchel’s side struck either side of the break as they played their final home game of the calendar year at Wembley Stadium – their penultimate 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier.

"Another good performance,” reflected substitute Eze, who made an impact in the second half. “It was important to get the win.

“I'm happy to score and help the team which is important.

“There's a lot of talent in the team. You can see the players here and the types that aren't here as well. It's the type of competition you want to be up against and it is going to help the team for sure.”

With England having already qualified for next year’s tournament, which is being staged in Canada, Mexico and the United States, Tuchel’s team were keen to maintain their momentum in the last camp before signing off 2025.

And, according to his players, the Three Lions are taking it step by step.

"We have to be confident; we have to believe it's possible,” added Eze. “It's working day by day to achieve that goal [of winning the World Cup]."

The Three Lions top Group K, having won all seven of their European Qualifiers so far, with the one game remaining against Albania on Sunday 16 November (5pm GMT kick-off).

"It's a performance we can be proud of,” said Saka, who opened the scoring. “We got the win and we played well. [The campaign] has been very successful, we have won every game. We want to keep building on that."
