England women’s under-20s fell to a 4-1 defeat to the USA this afternoon in Spain.

The Young Lionesses are gearing up for next year’s FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup with the final camp of the year serving as preparation for the tournament.

England’s opponents took the lead in the first half with 24 minutes on the clock.

And they added a second on the stroke of half time as Lauren Smith’s looked to regroup during the break.

With ten minutes of the game remaining, the USA added a third.

However, England pulled a goal back through second-half substitute Jessie Gale late in the day.

And the USA made it four during a lengthy stoppage period at the end of the game.

Smith’s team beat China PR 2-1 in the first of three games during the international window, with their final fixture against Mexico taking place next week on Tuesday 2 December (11am GMT kick-off).
