The England and Chelsea star spoke after the Lionesses ran out 2-0 winners in Derby

MATCH REPORT: ENGLAND 3-0 AUSTRALIA

Aggie Beever-Jones was pleased to make the scoresheet in England’s victory over Australia at Pride Park.

The Chelsea forward opened the scoring with an impressive effort as the Lionesses treated a sold-out Derby to a 3-0 win as part of the Homecoming Series.

“It’s always nice to get a win after a loss but even at half time, we said we were getting chances and we could get the ball more in the final third and make better decisions,” reflected Beever-Jones.

“But I think it was a really good team performance. I thought we kept the ball really well and it was nice to see all the fans in the stadium after a wonderful summer.”

The 22 year old picked up an injury in the second half, with Beever-Jones disappointed at being forced to withdraw.

“I’m okay,” she continued. “It’s obviously frustrating, I didn’t want to come off.

But they were down to ten so it didn’t make too big of an impact and sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture. I’ll be okay.”

And having been crowned the Lionesses’ top scorer for the 2024-25 season last week, Beever-Jones got off the mark for England in 2025-26 this evening.

“Playing football brings out the best in me, wherever I play,” she explained. “I didn't even know I won that award. I don't look at the stats too much.

“I just came here to focus and show Sarina what I can do. You saw it today, I was out on the wing a bit which is something I haven't done a lot recently but I love playing for England wherever I play.

“I got on the scoresheet today. It was a good performance today and hopefully we can take positives from that.”
