England women’s under-17s ran out 1-0 winners over Mexico in their first game of the MIMA Cup.
The Young Lionesses headed out to Spain in preparation for next month’s UEFA Women's U17 EURO 2026 qualifiers which will see Kerri Welsh’s side face Türkiye, Croatia and Italy in round two.
Arsenal midfielder Bryony Brodie stuck five minutes from time to clinch victory at Pinatar Arena where all three games of the tournament are being staged.
It marked England’s first outing of 2026, with the following two fixtures taking place on Thursday 12 February and Saturday 14 February, with opponents to be determined as the tournament progresses.
Opposition for the Young Lionesses’ upcoming games could include Morocco, Norway, Poland, Scotland, USA or Wales.
