Bellingham: Norway win ‘a victory for everyone’
The midfielder reacts after scoring twice to send England to the World Cup semi-finals
Jude Bellingham netted a brace as England came from behind to beat Norway 2-1 after extra time in Miami to reach the FIFA World Cup 2026 semi-finals.
Andreas Schjelderup put Norway ahead in the first half when his delivery from the left flew across Jordan Pickford’s box and crashed off the far post before crossing the line.
Bellingham showed a moment of individual quality to pull England level, before he prodded home from close range in extra time to complete the Three Lions' comeback.
The Real Madrid midfielder now has six goals at the World Cup this summer, the same number as Harry Kane, becoming the first Three Lions pair to score more than five goals at a single World Cup tournament.

‘We will give everything’
After sending England to the semi-final, the midfielder reflected on another important night for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
“Character, perseverance – even when things weren’t working, we found a way to win the game again,” he said. “Whether it’s in 90 or 120 (minutes), we will give everything we have got.
“You saw that there, whoever was ready to come on, came on and smashed it. I’m so proud of this team again, to be in a World Cup semi-final.
“It is a victory for everyone. The whole country is behind us. All the players and staff who are here, credit to them all. A huge shift by everyone.”

‘Warrior’ trio were ‘top level’
Elliot Anderson, Dan Burn and Djed Spence are all enjoying their debut World Cup campaigns and have played pivotal roles in recent knockout victories against Norway and Mexico.
“Warriors, they didn’t look like they were new to it,” Bellingham said, who is playing at his second World Cup.
“All three of them and whoever else came on were top level.
“It’s one thing to have quality, which all the lads in this group do, but you don’t know how much heart and mentality they have until you’re in a situation like that.”
