England to face France in World Cup third-place match

England will face France in the FIFA World Cup 2026 third place match after a 2-1 defeat to Argentina in the semi-finals.

The Three Lions will be vying for their best finish at a World Cup in 60 years after knockout victories over DR Congo, Mexico and Norway en-route to the last four.

In the semi-final, Anthony Gordon's opening goal was cancelled out by Enzo Fernandez's equaliser, before Lautaro Martinez scored the winner for the reigning world champions. 

France will meet Thomas Tuchel's side after Spain prevailed in their semi-final on Tuesday.

The Three Lions will face France at 10pm BST on Saturday 18 July, in Miami.
