England players nominated for PFA Awards

The PFA Awards for the 2025-26 season take place on Tuesday 25 August, with a number of England players from across our national teams nominated in various categories.

Three Lions midfielder Declan Rice was voted into the top six nominees for the Men’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year, while the Lionesses were well represented in the Women's PFA Players’ Player of the Year shortlist with Jess Park, Lauren James and Alessio Russo all voted into the top six.

A number of our Young Lions were also included in the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year top six, with World Cup squad members Nico O’Reilly and Kobbie Mainoo joined by Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha and Arsenal’s Max Dowman.

While O'Reilly and Mainoo were part of England's FIFA World Cup 2026 squad in North America, Ngumoha also joined the Three Lions in the USA as a supporting player in training at the Three Lions’ World Cup preparation camp in Florida and made his debut in the pre-tournament match with New Zealand, having previously represented England MU19s last season along with Dowman.

And two more members of our current England women’s senior squad were voted into the top six of the Women’s PFA Young Player of the Year nominees, with Laura Blindkilde Brown and Freya Godfrey included.
