Big Football Day powered by The National Lottery was a great success in 2025 with hundreds of grassroots clubs taking part in the campaign to show their support for the Lionesses whilst opening their doors to encourage more women and girls to get involved in football.

The National Lottery proudly teamed up with The FA to deliver Big Football Day, building on over a decade of support and a £65 million commitment to grow women and girls’ football. 
 
Thanks to National Lottery players, this investment has helped drive progress from elite success to grassroots growth, including funding for The FA’s Squad Girls’ Football programme and the UEFA Women’s EURO Legacy programme, creating over 500,000 opportunities for women and girls to get involved in the game.
