England roared through to the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 final, after a stunning semi-final win over Sweden in Sheffield.
Beth Mead, Lucy Bronze, Alessia Russo and Fran Kirby all struck for the Lionesses on an unforgettable night at Bramall Lane.
Sweden bossed the early stages but Mead’s sixth goal of the tournament just past the half-hour mark settled nerves.
Bronze doubled the lead with a fine header early in the second half before super sub Russo brilliantly backheeled home and Kirby added sheen to the scoreline.
Sarina Wiegman has led the Lionesses to their third EURO final and thus ended a run of three successive defeats in major tournament semi-finals.
