Foster names England MU19s squad for October matches
Ian Foster has named a 23-man squad for the England men’s under-19s' matches in October.
Foster has given first MU19s call-ups to the talented trio Charlie Patino of Arsenal, Everton striker Lewis Dobbin and Liverpool’s 16-year-old forward Kaide Gordon.
But generally, there is a familiar feel to Foster’s MU19s squad for October’s three matches at the Marbella Football Centre in Spain, although Liverpool goalkeeper Harvey Davies is back in the squad after stepping up to the MU20s last month.
England MU19s face France in their first match on Wednesday (kick-off 3pm BST/4pm local), before taking on Mexico on Saturday 9 October (kick-off 2.30pm BST/3.30pm local).
The triple header will then conclude when they face Belgium on Tuesday 12 October, with kick-off 3pm BST (4pm local).
Foster will be using these matches to prepare for the MU19s’ first UEFA U19 EURO qualifying games in November, when they face group hosts Sweden, Andorra and Switzerland, as they look to secure their place for the U19 EURO Finals in Slovakia next summer.
