Gareth Southgate and his squad present tickets for game with Iran and sign shirts for migrant workers ahead of World Cup
The England squad and manager Gareth Southgate welcomed migrant workers to a special training session on Thursday, as they make their final preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Nineteen workers from a host of different countries who have been involved in the building of stadiums and infrastructure joined the Three Lions squad at their main training base in Al Wakrah, Qatar as the build-up to the competition gathers pace.

Alongside external coaches from Generation Amazing – a programme using football to improve communities both locally and internationally – Gareth and the players were on hand to run some small-sided sessions, to offer informal coaching and to have some fun on the pitch.

As well as attending the session – which forms part of our wider community outreach activity whilst we’re in the region – each of the workers was also invited to attend England’s opening game against Iran on Monday and were given a signed England shirt.
