Report: Netherlands 3-3 England WU19s
Goals from Michelle Agyemang and Freya Godfrey help England women's under-19s secured a hard-fought draw
England women’s under-19s ended another beneficial camp with a 3-3 draw against the Netherlands.
The Young Lionesses had drawn 2-2 with hosts Portugal and recorded an emphatic 5-1 victory against Sweden last week.
The WU19s would have secured another victory had it not been for a late Netherlands goal but a Michelle Agyemang brace and another strike from Freya Godfrey on Monday afternoon ensured the WU19s ended the camp unbeaten.
England took the lead inside the opening two minutes when Maddy Earl released Agyemang and the Arsenal striker slotted the ball through the goalkeeper’s legs.
However, the Netherlands levelled just before the break through Bo van Egmond.
The Young Lionesses regained their lead three minutes after the restart when Ashanti Akpan’s header from Lexi Potter’s corner hit the crossbar and Godfrey was there to score the rebound.
It was then 3-1 five minutes later when another Potter corner led to a scramble in the box and Agyemang was there to score her second of the game.
Netherlands made it 3-2 just after the hour mark through Danique Tolhoek and then snatched a late equaliser courtesy of Lotte Keukelaar.
