England continued their strong start to the Partially Sighted European Championship by comfortably beating Italy 6-0.
Having seen off hosts Türkiye 3-0 on Tuesday, braces from Harry MacDonald and Liam Spinks and goals from Douglas Pratt and Josh Pugh ensured John Tapia-Owens’ side are in a fine position in the group.
It was MacDonald who struck first, smashing home from distance inside four minutes to set the Para Lions on their way.
England soon doubled their advantage, MacDonald the man again with a tidy finish after collecting the ball from a misplaced Italian pass.
With seven minutes remaining of the opening period, it was three – Liam Spinks doing the damage this time with another neat finish.
And Spinks was at it again shortly before the break, bending the ball home as it was laid back to him from a corner to make it 4-0.
It took England less than 30 seconds to score in the second half, Douglas Pratt adding to his brace against Türkiye on Tuesday by tapping home from close range.
Josh Pugh made it six midway through the second half, his well-hit effort nestling in the bottom corner as the Para Lions raced away from their opposition.
England next face Ukraine at 3pm GMT on Thursday, knowing that a victory would bank them a spot in Sunday's final.
