England under-17s beat Sweden 4-2 in Malta to bank their place in Round 2 of EURO 2025 qualification.

In an entertaining affair, goals from Reggie Walsh, Andre Dike, Finlay Gorman and Max Dowman were enough for Neil Ryan's side to get the job done.

It was the Swedes who took the lead, Ahmed Saeed finding the net after 26 minutes.

England were level before half-time, though, when Walsh fired in low to the goalkeeper's right from just inside the box, before Dike completed the turnaround just after the break, smashing in off the bar from a tight angle to make it 2-1.

And the Young Lions moved further clear on 74 minutes when Gorman dispatched a penalty he had won himself.

Injury time saw two more goals, Dowman scoring for England before Sweden netted a consolation of their own in the final seconds.

The victory completed a good week's work for Ryan's side, who won all three Round 1 matches and will fight for their spot at next summer's tournament in Round 2 next year.
