England women's under-17s have spent a week in Alicante preparing for next month's 2025 UEFA Women's U-17 Championship qualification matches.

The training camp saw the squad train together and play two matches against Spain. It was a separate group from that which will take part in the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in October, who were the group of players who featured for the WU17s in 2023-24.

John Salomon's side lost 5-1 in the first of their encounters with the hosts on Tuesday 10 September, with Martha Allington netting England's goal.

But there was a strong response in the second game however, with Allington scoring again and Freya Hirons (pictured above) notching the winner in a 2-1 victory.

The Young Lionesses are next in action in the first stage of EURO qualifiers against Faroe Islands, Czechia and Netherlands in October.

The squad of players on the trip were as below

Goalkeepers: Amy Liddiard (Arsenal), Silvana Marshall Miranda (Brighton & Hove Albion), Chiemela-Uju Ude (Arsenal)

Defenders: Eva Bewicke (Sunderland), Elise Christian (Chelsea), Isabella Cowley (Chelsea), Lucy Day (Birmingham City), Erin Freeman (Bristol City), Aaliyah Pearson (Manchester United), Chloe Sarwie (Chelsea), Katie Scott (Aston Villa)
