Jonathan Rowe answers 21 UEFA U21 EURO related questions
The Marseille forward discusses his England memories, his favourite food to eat on camp and what he's most looking forward to this summer

After making his England men's under-21s debut in October 2023, Jonathan Rowe will represent the Young Lions at his first tournament this summer.
Before heading out to Slovakia, the forward answers 21 EURO-related questions before the UEFA U21 EURO Finals get underway.
1. You're packing your suitcase for the EUROs. What is one essential item that you're packing?
Let’s go with my Bible – let’s go humble.
2. What is one luxury item you’re packing?
My iPad. Nothing special!
3. You’re boarding the plane to Slovakia. How do you like to pass the time on a plane journey?
I download a few movies or series. Right now, I’m watching Gangs of London.
4. Who do you usually sit with on the plane?
Probably Omari [Hutchinson].

5. What is your favourite thing about staying in a hotel and what do you look for in a hotel?
A great shower. There needs to be a good shower. That’s the main thing.
6. Who would you pick as a roommate?
Probably Omari again.
7. How do you spend your down-time on camp?
Getting treatment, massages, playing table tennis and just chilling.
8. What kind of character or personality would you say you are in the group?
Positive and good vibes.
9. What do you miss most from home when you’re away?
Food!
10. What is your favourite meal to eat on camp?
Chef Stu makes a great burrito, like a chicken wrap. I don’t know what to call it but it has a bit of everything in it.

11. What is your pre-match routine?
I’m a bit boring when it comes to pre-match stuff. I don’t really have one.
12. What genre of music do you listen to before a game? Do you have a favourite song or album?
Right now, I’m in the Soca vibe. It’s a Caribbean party type of vibe.
13. Who do you sit with on the bus journey to a game?
James Beadle.
14. How do you recover after a game and what is your routine to wind down?
I just eat some food. I watch the game back and speak to my friends back in London.
15. Who is your biggest supporter?
My cousin and my sister and my mum.

16. Have you ever been to Slovakia before? What are you most looking forward to about visiting?
We went for one of the qualifying games to play Ukraine. I’m just looking forward to the tournament. I’m motivated, I’m excited and I’m there to win.
17. What do you enjoy most about being on camp?
Just different personalities. Getting to know players from different clubs and what’s going on at their clubs and stuff like that.
18. What is your favourite memory representing England?
My debut – my under-21s debut against Serbia.
19. What is your favourite memory as a fan supporting England?
Funnily enough, I was an escort for England v Brazil back in 2013. Not many people know that but I walked out with the Brazilian team. That was the first time I was in the stadium. That’s probably my first memory.

20. What are three words to describe how you’re feeling heading into this tournament?
Excited, motivated and ambitious.
21. How would you sum up your emotions when you pull on an England shirt and step on to the pitch?
It’s an honour. We know this badge means a lot to the people of this country. We know that there’s expectation when you step out on to the pitch. You have to embrace it and make sure that you’re able to perform.
