Rice: 'We want to keep exciting the fans'
The England midfielder led the Three Lions out in the Alzheimer's Society International win at Wembley
MATCH CENTRE: ENGLAND 3-0 WALES
England midfielder Declan Rice captained the Three Lions to their eighth straight victory over Wales, with a 3-0 win on Thursday evening.
Thomas Tuchel’s men found themselves three up inside 20 minutes as they line up for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier in Latvia, which Rice said the overall performance has put them in good standing for.
“The first half performance was outstanding; full of energy, rhythm, and we pressed them high, which is exactly what we have worked on since we have been in camp,” he reflected.
“Second half, we maybe could have had one or two chances from the short corner, but apart from that, the first half was top level, and second, we maybe died down a bit.
“Tonight was all about momentum, building on what we had done in Serbia in the last camp, so to win, in a friendly like this, which I said before the game was a really big night for us – I’m glad we could win.”
Club teammate Bukayo Saka became Arsenal’s leading scorer for the Three Lions with his 13th at international level.
And also making a mark was Morgan Rogers, whose debut senior goal for England came inside three minutes after defender Marc Guéhi planted a ball back towards the Aston Villa forward.

“They’re two happy people when they come to England every time [Rogers and Saka]," he added.
"I have the privilege to play with Saka week in, week out, and I think he’s done that at Wembley a few times now. To see him score again for England was special."
Elliot Anderson has earned his place in midfield in recent months, linking up once more with Rice on Thursday – a partnership that excites his international compatriot.
“I think you probably can’t play at a higher level," Rice said. "He’s taken it in his stride.
“We have built up a really strong relationship in midfield. We’re playing closer together; he’s letting me go forward more, so we’re building a nice partnership.
“The manager has really liked us in the past three games, and he’s kept with that, so we have got to keep building on that.
“The World Cup is in the summer, still a long, long way to go, but the more we can play, and keep up the momentum, it will be really important."
