Gordon Hill receives England legacy cap

Former England international Gordon Hill was presented with his legacy cap at Old Trafford.

The winger, who now lives and works in the USA, paid a visit to Manchester United's home ground, having played for the club between 1975 and 1978, scoring 51 goals in 134 appearances.

The two-time FA Cup finalist, who won the competition in 1977, won six caps for his country during his international career.

The now 72 year old was the 923rd player to represent the Three Lions, with his red commemorative cap displaying his legacy number.

“It’s such an honour," he explained. "It’s a great number to be. I can pass it on, it’s part of me and it being red helps it even more. I think it’s something that you savour."

He was accompanied by participants from his soccer school as Hill and the group embarked on a tour of the museum - where he signed his photograph in the 'Hall of Heroes' - the dressing room and the pitch on their visit.
