UEFA Nations League 2026-27 draw information

England will learn their opponents in the UEFA Nations League 2026-27 edition, when the draw is made in Brussels on Thursday 12 February 2026 and scheduled to start at around 5pm GMT.

The Three Lions are back in League A for the fifth edition of the competition, following their promotion from League B under the interim charge of Lee Carsley in the autumn of 2024.

And the draw will see teams drawn out into groups of four* from the four pots which are based on rankings, with six fixtures to be played home and away against each other to determine the final rankings in each group.

The pots in League A are as follows, which means England will be drawn out alongside a nation from pots one, two and four in their group.

Pot 1: Portugal, Spain, France, Germany
Pot 2: Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Croatia
Pot 3: Serbia, Belgium, England, Norway
Pot 4: Wales, Czechia, Greece, Turkiye

The new campaign will kick-off in September and October 2026, during a prolonged international window from 24 September through to 6 October with four games expected to be scheduled during this time.

The final two games will then be played in the following international window between 12 and 17 November.

Following the conclusion of the league phase, the best sides from League A will have the opportunity to qualify for the finals as winners of the quarter-finals, which are scheduled to take place in March 2027.

The finals will then be contested between four teams in June 2027, with the host nation and the dates of the finals still to be finalised.

The 2026-27 UEFA Nations League is also expected to be linked to qualification for UEFA EURO 2028, in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, as some nations will have a second opportunity to seal qualification for the play-offs based on their UEFA Nations League results.

The nations making up the different leagues are as follows:

League A: Belgium, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, Turkiye, Wales

League B: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Hungary, Israel, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Northern Ireland
Poland, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Scotland, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine

League C: Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Montenegro, San Marino, Slovakia, Latvia/Gibraltar*, Luxembourg/Malta*

League D: Andorra, Azerbaijan, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Gibraltar/Latvia*, Malta/Luxembourg*

*To be decided via League C/D play-offs

The following dates have been selected for the Nations League fixtures.

League group phase

Matchday 1-4: 24 September to 6 October 2026
Matchday 5-6: 12-17 November 2026

Quarter-finals, League A/B and League B/C promotion/relegation play-offs:
25-30 March 2027

League C/D play-offs: 23-28 March 2028

The Finals: 9-15 June 2027 (Dates to be confirmed)
