England men's squad named for Croatia and Spain

The England squad to play Croatia and Spain in the final UEFA Nations League matches of 2026 has been selected ahead of the November international window.

The Three Lions face their last two games of the group stage next week, with Croatia visiting Wembley on Thursday 12 October (7.45pm GMT) before they head to Madrid to play Spain on Sunday 15 November (7.45pm GMT).

Head coach Thomas Tuchel has named a 25-man squad for the camp, which could see captain Harry Kane become the most-capped player for the England men’s senior team should he feature after equalling Peter Shilton’s record of 125 during the last international window in September and October.

The squad also includes two first-time call-ups in the shape of midfielders Jobe Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund and Fulham’s Josh King, who progress from the men’s under-21 squad.

King already has experience of life with the senior squad, having travelled to the USA in the summer to be a part of the pre-World Cup training camp in Florida.

And Jobe joins his MU21 teammate in the senior squad for the first time having impressed with his form at Borussia Dortmund in the early stages of this season.

There’s a return to the squad for Djed Spence and Declan Rice, who both missed out on the last camp through injury.

Ben White is back in the squad for the first time since March, after he was ruled out of the World Cup this summer following an untimely injury sustained with Arsenal in the later stages of last season.

The squad will meet early next week to begin their preparation for the games, with England looking to seal their place in the Nations League quarter-finals next March by finishing either first or second in the group.

England currently sit in second place in Group C and know that if they avoid defeat against Croatia then that will be enough to secure their quarter-final place. To finish top of the group, England would need to win both games and ensure they have a higher goal difference than Spain.

Tickets for the game with Croatia at Wembley remain on sale.
