The Three Lions won’t be the only English representation at the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final stage this weekend, following the appointment of three English match officials.
Referee Michael Oliver, along with assistant referees Stuart Burt and James Mainwaring will oversee the last-eight tie between Belgium and Spain in Los Angeles.
The match also represents a significant milestone for Oliver, who is set to become the English official with the most FIFA World Cup matches officiated (seven).
