Beckham joins England at Miami training session
The Three Lions are training at Inter Miami's complex ahead of Saturday's World Cup quarter-final
Sir David Beckham welcomed the England squad to Inter Miami’s training complex on Friday as they gear up for their FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final against Norway.
Thomas Tuchel and his squad flew from their Kansas City base to Florida earlier today and immediately headed to Fort Lauderdale for their final training session ahead of Saturday’s game.
Former Three Lions captain Beckham, who won 115 caps for his country across 13 years, is a co-owner of MLS franchise Inter Miami, and he was on hand to greet Harry Kane and Co. as they used his club’s state-of-the-art facilities.
Jordan Henderson was the only member of the squad not out on the grass as he continues his recovery, after undergoing successful surgery on his arm following an injury sustained at Mexico City Stadium on Sunday.
Marc Guéhi, Reece James and Declan Rice, who were absent from Wednesday’s session at Swope Soccer Village as they worked on individual programmes, were all back in action with the rest of the group in Miami.
England face Norway at Miami Stadium, home of NFL outfit the Miami Dolphins, on Saturday evening with kick-off at 10pm BST (5pm local time).
The Three Lions set up the last-eight clash with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Mexico in the round of 16, having come from behind to beat DR Congo 2-1 in the first knockout stage.
Jude Bellingham scored twice in the first half against El Tri, before Kane got the winner from the penalty spot after the break. Tuchel's men held out for a memorable win despite playing for over 40 minutes with 10 men following Jarell Quansah's red card.
Beckham was full of praise for England after they inflicted Mexico's first ever World Cup defeat at Mexico City Stadium, as he took to Instagram to write: "A night to be proud of each and every one of the squad.
"Now that's a performance WOW. There was no other way of winning this game other than that... Absolutely brilliant."
The former Three Lions skipper also singled out goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for his performance, posting: "What can we say about this man's performance today?? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING other than perfect."
Sharing an image of Kane and Bellingham celebrating together, Beckham simply commented: "Passion & leadership", while a picture of Tuchel was accompanied by the caption: "Brilliant from the boss."
