Midfielder's seven goals at FIFA World Cup 2026 the most by any England men's player at a major tournament

Jude Bellingham has made history for the England men's team by scoring in Saturday's thrilling 6-4 victory over France in the FIFA World Cup 2026 bronze final.

Bellingham’s magnificent solo goal in second-half stoppage time was his seventh goal at this summer's tournament.

He struck once against Croatia and again versus Panama in the group stage. The Three Lions and Real Madrid midfielder followed that up with a doubles against Mexico and Norway in the Round of 16 and quarter-finals, before adding goal number seven in the bronze final.

That means he is the only Three Lions player to score as many as seven goals at a major tournament, including the FIFA World Cup and UEFA EURO finals.

Harry Kane went into the France game on six goals like Bellingham, but he was an unused substitute as he watched his teammates produce a fine attacking display.

Kane as produced two of the three occasions that England men's players have scored six goals at a major tournament - this tournament and the FIFA World Cup 2018.

The other occasion a Three Lions player hit six goals in a major tournament was Gary Lineker at the FIFA World Cup 1986.
