Rio Ngumoha enters England men's top 10 youngest players list following debut against New Zealand

Rio Ngumoha became the fifth-youngest debutant in the history of the England’s men’s team as he made his first senior international appearance against New Zealand.

The forward came off the bench aged 17 years and 281 days in the warm-up game ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, which the Three Lions won 1-0 thanks to Harry Kane’s first-half header

Ngumoha is the youngest player to be capped by the men’s senior team since team-mate Jude Bellingham, who made his debut against the Republic of Ireland in November 2020 at the age of 17 years and 136 days.

Theo Walcott holds the record of being the Three Lions’ youngest-ever player, having won his first cap 75 days after his 17th birthday, beating Wayne Rooney into second place by a matter of 36 days.
